A friend of mine says that your employer is not allowed to look at e-mails and stuff that belongs to you, they are aloud to scan through it;meaning; just browes to see if there is any info being leeked conserning the company, but not actually reply and read all of them. my question is is my friend rite and what is the law conserning this?

Somewhere in all the crap that they give you in orientation there should be some paperwork on that kind of stuff. Your employer has a right to go through whatever you send out. They can read it word for word if they like. After all, they are paying for the service that you are using to send out emails, or the Internet connection in which you are sending.
I have seen people fired for sending emails, not from the companies accounts, to friends that were seen as not appropriate.
Common sense! You have been hired to do a job! You have been provided equipment to do your job! When you are at work, your job is to tend to company business not yours other wise you are guilty of stealing from the company and using their equipment for unauthorized use!
If the computer is owned by the company, the employer has the right to inspect the property under the Labor Laws. It is assumed that only work-related items are in the computer. Nevertheless, personal items must be respected if not prohibited or inimical to the property.
Yes and no. There was recently a case where the email activity was disallowed as grounds for being terminated as it was deemed equivilent to personal phone calls. As far as the content of said emails, the company should have free range over objectionable material (they should have filters in place anyhow), the same way they would have a problem with vulgarity being used over the phone within ear shot of a customer.
